Cinemalaya 2018 Winners Revealed

Cinemalaya 2018 came to a close last Sunday, August 12, 2018, with Kung Paano Hinihintay Ang Dapithapon emerging as the big winner with five awards. Carlo Enciso Catu’s film about a terminally ill man reaching out to his estranged wife bagged the balanghai trophies for Best Picture, Screenplay, Production Design, and Cinematography, as well as a Netpac citation. Pan de Salawal brought home four awards, followed by crowd favorite Liway with three.

Ai-Ai delas Alas was a surprise Best Actress win over other bets Celeste Legaspi, Iza Calzado, and Glaiza de Castro. Therese Malvar made history by being cited as Best Supporting Actress for both her films Distance and School Service.

The shorts category saw Carlo Francisco Manatad bagging Best Picture for Jodilerks Dela Cruz, Employee Of The Month. Sa Saiyang Isla won screenplay and a citation from Netpac.
